THE BEGINNINGS

Founded in 1983, Goodrich Wallcoverings Pte Ltd had its inception under the joint efforts of Mr. Chan Chong Beng and Mr. Thomas Gay. The operation began modestly with a team of seven individuals, focused on providing wallcoverings to architects, interior designers, and property developers. This foundational business model served as the cornerstone upon which the company gradually expanded both in influence and size.

In 2005, Mr. Chan initiated a branding campaign that, combined with his astute leadership and adept execution of business strategies, led to a remarkable 93% surge in Goodrich Global’s retail revenue in Singapore during 2007 alone. This feat earned Mr. Chan the esteemed title of ‘Overall Winner – Entrepreneur of the Year 2007’.

The Goodrich brand has since evolved into the foremost choice for lifestyle interior furnishings. Notable accolades under its belt encompass:

In 2012, the Goodrich brand garnered a valuation of S$15.4 million from Brand Finance, a premier independent brand valuation company headquartered in the United Kingdom. The company has been accredited with the “Singapore Quality Class” certification and the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification.

Today, Goodrich Global Pte Ltd reigns supreme as the primary force in the domain of wallcoverings, fabrics, carpets, and diverse flooring solutions such as laminate, vinyl, engineered timber, outdoor decking, and rubber tiles (both indoor and outdoor). Its footprint extends across South East Asia, India, and the Middle East, supported by a workforce exceeding 500 individuals deployed through more than 30 regional offices spanning 11 countries. Furthermore, it maintains distributor representative offices in Myanmar, Laos, and the Philippines.

LEADERSHIP

Within Goodrich Global, each member of the workforce is recognized as a prospective leader, with avenues for progression determined by their merit. Our cadre of Managers embodies accountable and receptive guidance, underscored by a philosophy that values foresight and meticulous planning. The development of Goodrich personnel is oriented towards equipping them with competencies that actively influence the company’s operations. This approach fosters an environment of idea generation, innovation, and self-driven initiatives, eliminating the necessity for continual oversight.

FORGING A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

The integration with Sangetsu Corporation marks a pivotal juncture for Goodrich Global, empowering it to fortify its capacity for sustained expansion.

Sangetsu Corporation commands approximately half of the Japanese wallpaper market and boasts total assets amounting to JPY 163,717 million. In 2016, the company acquired Koroseal, a U.S. manufacturer specializing in wall decoration materials, thus fortifying Sangetsu Corporation’s foothold in the Asian arena and propelling its overseas sales endeavors. With a rich legacy dating back to 1849 as a prominent wallcovering leader based in Nagoya, Japan, Sangetsu Corporation has attained full ownership of Goodrich Global. Like its counterpart, Sangetsu Corporation thrives within the interior products sector, encompassing nine showrooms and 34 sales offices across Japan. The company’s portfolio encompasses the development and distribution of interior decorative items across Asia and the international stage, including offerings such as wallcoverings, flooring materials, curtains, and upholstery.

The synergies that arise from the convergence of Goodrich Global in Asia, Koroseal in North America, and Sangetsu Corporation in Japan are poised to amplify their sales networks within Southeast Asia, thereby enhancing the collective corporate value of the entire consortium.
